From the VES Fields (Harbor School), racers will head North on Vashon Highway turning East on 156th St. to a Right turn onto 91st Ave. From here, a Left turn takes runners onto Dilworth Rd were a turnaround awaits and participants will retrace back to the finish line. The 5K run is sanctioned by USATF.
Vashon Island offers runners and walkers some beautiful scenery. The course follows paved country roads and includes a few challenging hills along what locals call the "Dilworth Loop."
Some people come to chase a personal best or challenge a friend. Others prefer to walk, talk, and enjoy the view. Either way, everyone is welcome.
The Bill Burby Inspirational Fun Run takes place during Vashon's beloved Strawberry Festival. After the race, participants can enjoy the island's delightfully quirky parade, dance to live music, sample festival favorites, and browse local arts and crafts. Many local businesses and organizations set up booths featuring special treats, unique goods, and festival-only offerings that make the weekend extra memorable.
Bring the whole family and make a day of it!
